Zero Hunger Special by Vice Versa
October 14, 2026
What does work to reduce hunger? And don’t what? That’s what the special Zero Hunger edition of Vice Versa Global: Africa can feed herself hampered by the continent’s path towards food security. The edition takes stock of the mid-term of the Sustainable Development Goals and shows which African solutions contribute to sustainable food security. The work of The Hunger Project is also discussed extensively.
The special opens with an interview with Rowlands Kaotcha, director Africa of The Hunger Project. He advocated a fundamental change: away from the traditional aid approach and investing in resilient communities and local food systems.
In addition, journalists visited projects of The Hunger Project in Ethiopia and Malawi. In Ethiopia, they show how communities restore degraded land and thereby strengthen nature, agriculture and food security. In Malawi, they follow women and farmers who use climate-smart agriculture and new income sources to increase their resilience to the effects of climate change.
Curious how local communities themselves build a future without hunger?
