Maasbert SchoutenCEO MaasInvest

Tell me about MaasInvest – what motivates you to do?

I’m passionate about beautiful investment propositions and creating a significantly above average and sustainable return. It feels like I’m doing a daily cross between chess and Monopoly, and I try to collect as many chips as possible to play the game ever bigger. Because that only makes it fun, says Maasbert laughing.

What does entrepreneurship mean to you?

Entrepreneurship means independence to me. The possibility to grow unlimited in principle by weighing as smartly as possible opportunities and risk derivatives.

What appealed to you most in the work of The Hunger Project and specifically the Game Changers project in Mozambique?

At The Hunger Project, the employees are passionate and driven to realize their beautiful mission, says Maasbert. In Mozambique, with a relatively small amount for our Dutch concepts, all major steps can be taken to reduce poverty and people who are hungry. You are also part of a beautiful and valuable network.

Joining this beautiful organization and showing your social commitment is a real win-win!

What’s in it for you to contribute to The Hunger Project?

A good feeling. We are so lucky that we were born accidentally in the Netherlands. It should be obvious that if you can afford to share something of your luck, he says with conviction.

How does your contribution to The Hunger Project fit your personal values and that of your company?

Sustainable value creation is my business mission, but it is wonderful to be able to achieve sustainable value in this way for people in Mozambique who need it very much.

What do you see as a realistic path to a world without hunger?

I’d like to leave that to the experts, like you guys from The Hunger Project, he reacts with a smile. Everyone has his profession and expertise. But it is nice to then join and support it.

What would you like to say to other entrepreneurs who have doubts about joining The Hunger Project?

Joining this beautiful organization and showing your social commitment is a real win-win!
