Annual Report 2025.

October 14, 2026

2025 was a year of headwind. Worldwide, the scope for civil society fell, and this development was also felt in the Netherlands: Here, too, substantial cuts were made to international cooperation, and long-term financing for structural change was put under pressure. That affects our work every day.

Just now, results show themselves

Just in a year like this, results show themselves. We saw progress in our programs: communities increased their food security, local organisations collaborated with governments and partners, and women took the lead. And after years of increase, the number of people hungry fell slightly: from 733 to 673 million. Still way too much, but for us the evidence that lasts works.2025 also marked 45 years of The Hunger Project Netherlands, and the last year of our five-year Right2Grow program. Our annual report shows what we have achieved despite the headwind, and above all what the people in our programme countries themselves managed to achieve.
